Bixby 3/4: Workplace Violence Prevention

Description: Workplace violence training is one of several proactive steps we can take to prepare employees and managers to respond appropriately to an active shooter incident. While the likelihood of an active shooter event is rare, all employees should know how to recognize the signs of potential violence and what their role is during an active shooter situation.  Workplace violence training strengthens and reinforces our emergency action plan and can help reduce the risk of an incident occurring. Equipped with knowledge and composure, employees will know how to recognize and respond to dangerous situations while ensuring the safety of everyone involved.

Broadland 2: What is Diversity? Equity? Inclusion?

Description: This interactive session aims to unpack exactly what the terms “diversity”, “equity”, and “inclusion” mean. Learn from your coworkers and colleagues about their lived experiences and share your story with others. Engagement is encouraged and will be rewarded with prizes and recognition for those who step up to share.  This session is ideal for staff in all roles and at all levels of the organization who want to see the company continue to embrace diversity, treat employees and residents equitably, and be an inclusive place to work.

Description: We come to work with different backgrounds and perspectives, so it’s normal for us to clash at times. Do you tell it like it is, or do you have difficulty being direct?  Do you value socializing at work, or do you prefer to focus on tasks?  Are you okay with conflict, or do you avoid it? We may answer differently in different situations, but we typically have natural tendencies.  Let’s chat about work styles and how to create more harmony amidst diversity.
